2023

The OTDYKH Leisure 2023 brought together over 400 exhibitors from 40 Russian regions and 20 countries with attendance reaching over 10.500 visitors in-person and virtually. More than 100 media representatives from numerous platforms promoted the fair and its vendors. Media channels included Russia-1, Vesti Tourism, Rbc, NTV, BRICS TV, Together RF and TK “Friday;” as well as regional channels including Kuzbass, Katun 24, TK Yamal Media, Kuban 24, Reporter 73, TC Novy Vek, among others.
This year’s partner country was Thailand

2022

Despite the travel restrictions, the OTDYKH Leisure 2022 was a raging success with over 7200 trade attendees, and exhibitions featuring more than 300 companies from 40 Russian regions and 14 different countries.

One of the main highlights of the business programme was the Greater Ural interregional project. The Greater Ural is a large-scale project which includes five Russian regions: Sverdlovsk, Perm, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk and the Republic of Bashkortostan. The project goal is to develop different types of tourism in these regions.

For the first time, the Fair featured a creative laboratory OTDYKH Lab. Various Russian regions participated at the LEISURE Lab, showcasing off-season tourism opportunities. Samara region was this year’s LEISURE Lab winner.

Egypt is being featured as the show's official Partner Country.

2021

In spite of the global travel restrictions and closed borders, international exhibitors participated from all over the world. Among them were: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Cyprus, Egypt, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Moldova, Peru, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tunisia and Venezuela.

This year the OTDYKH Leisure Fair celebrated several newcomers to the event, including the country Azerbaijan, the region of Ceará in Brazil, the prefecture of Tottori in Japan and the company, Sri Lankan Airlines.

In a magnificent return to the fair, not only was Egypt a partner country of the exhibition, but it sent a large delegation to the expo, headed by the esteemed, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt, Mr Khaled al-Anany.

2020

After months of stringent measures of the international community to prevent the spread of Covid-19, and the restrictions caused by “lock downs” and isolation, the OTDYKH exhibition became the first tourism event in Russia and eventually worldwide to reopen its door to travel industry professionals.

Over the course of three days more than 260 exhibitors from 40 Russian regions showcased their products and services to over 5.500 travel industry experts. Due to travel restrictions and closed borders, the focus of the 26th edition was domestic tourism with far fewer international exhibitors usually featured at Russia’s leading autumn travel event. Long-time contributors to the OTDYKH Leisure Trade - Bulgaria, China, Cuba and Spain participate in the fair with exclusive stands.

A new hybrid format of the exhibition successfully debuted for the first time. The OTDYKH Leisure Fair 2020 combined both real and virtual exhibition.

Republic of Bulgaria is being featured as the show's official Partner Country.

2019

The OTDYKH Leisure trade fair celebrated its 25th anniversary

For a quarter of a century, the trade fair changed three exhibition platforms and survived three relocations, expanded the display with thematic sections, transformed into a trade fair forum, bringing the business program to a new high level.

This year 619 companies participated from 77 Russian regions and countries with attendance reaching over 14 897 trade visitors.

A long-time contributor to the OTDYKH Leisure Trade Fair since 2001, Cuba become the official partner country of OTDYKH 2019.

2018

The OTDYKH Leisure 2018 was held under the auspices of the Cross Year of Russia and Japan.

As part of the activities dedicated to this event, the Land of the Rising Sun acted as a partner country of the trade fair. The Japan exposition incorporated the slogan of its global-scale, multilingual campaign entitled “Enjoy my Japan.”

2017

The highlight of the Fair became a business program supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for Tourism. The main theme of the programme was entitled “Tourism is the driver of economic growth. The modern image of the Russia’s tourism industry”. Over 2,000 delegates from 74 regions of Russia, including representatives of government bodies and travel industry leaders took part in 30 business events.

2016

The OTDYKH Leisure Trade Fair moved to EXPOCENTRE fairgrounds.

2015

For the first time OTDYKH Leisure and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation organized round table discussions “Museums and tourism industry. The way to mutual understanding”.

2014

For the first time, the fair featured conference titled “You Are Our Future” which took place within Career and Education section of the business programme. The conference proved a to be a comprehensive discussion to help graduate students and young professionals to build a successful career in travel industry.

2014

The MATIW re-branding. All exhibition were incorporated under OTDYKH brand.

2014

The international Conference on food and wine travel “Tasteful Journey” took place for the first time. The conference was attended by Mr. Jose Borralho, a member of Board of Advisors of World Food Travel Association.

Culinary tourism was presented in an unusual form of cooking master classes.

2012

For the first time, the Conference titled “Modern IT Tools For Travel Industry” took place under the support of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

2010

The OTDYKH Leisure Trade Fair was highly appraised by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).

2008

The OTDYKH Leisure Trade Fair became a member of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).

2007

The online Appointment System to pre-arrange meetings was launched.

2006

MICE meetings industry and business travel workshop and conference grew into MIBEXPO Russia exhibition.

This event was highly appraised by ICCA, the International Congress and Convention Association.

The exhibition attracted notable attendees including Mr. Lex Granaada, SITE President; Mr. Didier Scaillet, Director of MPI Europe; Mr. Tom Halton, Executive Director of International Meeting Venues and Mr. Ray Bloom, Chairman and Founder of the IMEX Group.

2006

The Trade Fair moved to Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center.

The exhibition area increased from 15,000 to 23,000 sq.m. The number of exhibitors increased by 5 times compared to 1995, exceeding over 1000 companies.

OTDYKH Luxury, International Trade Fair for Luxury Travel took place for the first time, featuring 80 exhibitors from 18 countries

2006

Since 2006 all exhibitions were consolidated under MATIW Moscow Autumn Travel Industry Week.

2006

A Corporate Buyer program for hosting meeting industry buyers was launched for the first time.

2005

The OTDYKH Leisure Trade Fair introduced new projects:

Meeting Industry and Business Travel Workshop and Conference.

Medical Tourism, SPA & Health Workshop Conference

1998

The OTDYKH Leisure Trade Fair moved to the Olympic Sports Complex (Olimpiyskiy). A 15.000 sqm exposition presented 967 exhibitors from 67 countries and Russian regions.

1995

The first edition of OTDYKH Leisure Trade Fair took place on 23 October 1995 in the Moscow Manege marking the beginning of the rapid growth of travel and tourism industry in Russia.

200 companies from 25 countries and Russian regions participated in the exhibition, covering 5,000 sq.m space.
